Geert Gekiere

Geert Gekiere has a strong background in finance and management. Geert started their career at Vandemoortele as an assistant Treasurer in 1990. Geert later worked at KarstadtQuelle AG as a Cash Manager and Treasury Manager Coordination Center from 1993 to 1999. Geert then joined Thomas Cook Interservices (Coordination Center) as a Manager from 1999 to 2001. Gekiere continued their career at Thomas Cook Belgium as a Finance Manager from 2001 to 2003. Geert then moved to Thomas Cook West/East Europe Segment, where they held the role of Finance Coordinator from 2003 to 2004. Gekiere then became the CFO of Thomas Cook Nederland from 2004 to 2007. Geert subsequently joined Thomas Cook France as the CFO from 2007 to 2011. Gekiere then worked at Thomas Cook West/East Europe Segment as the Finance Director in 2011. Finally, they joined Euroports and took on various roles, including Finance Director, Managing Director a.i., and Managing Director & Operations Director Belgium and France from 2012 to the present. Geert is currently serving as the Group Chief Financial Officer at Euroports since September 2019.

Geert Gekiere pursued their education at the Katholieke Hogeschool Zuid-West-Vlaanderen from 1987 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy & Tax. Geert later enrolled at the KU Leuven in 1995 for a postgraduate program in Corporate Finance.
