Gareth Alston

Gareth Alston currently serves as the Director of Government Affairs at Eutelsat OneWeb, a global satellite operator, where responsibilities include delivering key policy reforms and providing strategic guidance to senior leadership. Prior experience encompasses a role as First Secretary for Transportation and Infrastructure Policy at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, leading UK transport policy in the US, and as Head of Aviation Security Threat and Risk Policy at the Department for Transport, focusing on aviation security within the UK’s Counter Terrorism Strategy. Earlier work includes project leadership for climate change impact assessments at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and senior advisory roles in crisis management and civil contingencies within the Cabinet Office. Alston's career began at the UK Ministry of Defence, managing international missile defense projects. Alston holds a Master of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London.
