Yorick Laupa

Yorick Laupa has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and distributed systems. Yorick started their career in 2010 as a Consultant JEE at Steria, where they maintained an online bank portal named BforBank. In 2011, they continued their consulting work as a JEE Consultant at AWAT until 2012.

From 2013 to 2014, Yorick worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Jirafe, Inc and then at Applicius, where they developed the service Applidok, which manages PDF templates merged from web forms. In 2014, they also worked briefly at VALWIN | Santé & Innovations, developing an e-Health system based on an event-sourced architecture.

Yorick then joined Tweag I/O in 2014 as a Senior Software Engineer, working on orchestration and automatic fault repair systems for large computing and storage clusters. Yorick also contributed to the development of a Complex Event Processing (CEP) framework using Functional Reactive Programming (FRP).

In 2016, Yorick worked as a Data Engineer at Axa Data Innovation Lab via Palo IT. Here, they designed and implemented the Axa Fraud Detection System (AFDS), focusing on detecting fraudulent claims from Axa customers.

Yorick's next role was at vente-privee, where they served as a Senior Lead Software Engineer from 2017 to 2020. In this position, they defined technical roadmaps, designed technical architecture documentation, and implemented coding guidelines for production runtime efficiency and resilience.

Most recently, Yorick joined Event Store in 2020 as a Software Engineer, before being promoted to the role of Distributed Systems Engineer in June 2022. Their current responsibilities in this role are not specified.

Throughout their career, Yorick has showcased their expertise in various programming languages and technologies, including Scala, EventStore, and functional reactive programming frameworks.

Yorick Laupa completed their Baccalauréat in Science from Collège/Lycée de Juilly in the years 2003 to 2005. Following that, they pursued an Engineer's degree in Information Technology from EFREI - Grande école du numérique, from 2005 to 2010.
