Thorsten Stanko has extensive experience in the sports and events industry. Thorsten began their career in 1991 with an apprenticeship and trainee program at Symrise AG. Thorsten then worked as an intern at HSV and SPORTFIVE before joining Hertha BSC GmbH & Co. KGaA as an executive assistant to the president. In 2000, they joined Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA as an in-house consultant and executive assistant. In 2003, they worked as a consultant freelancer at De Gruyter. Thorsten then transitioned to Ticket Online Software GmbH, where they served as a senior manager in business development for sports from 2004 to 2011. Thorsten later moved to CTS EVENTIM Sports GmbH, where they held the position of senior manager in sales and business development until 2014. In the same year, they joined CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA as the head of international sports partnerships. From 2014 to 2017, they also served as the project director of ticketing for the Organising Committee of the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships.
Thorsten Stanko began their education in 1995 at the University of Münster, where they pursued undergraduate studies in Business Administration and Economics until 1997. In 1997, they participated in the Master of Business Administration Exchange Program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Thorsten then attended the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management from 1998 to 2000, obtaining their Diploma-Kaufmann degree in Graduate Studies in Business Administration/Management. Additionally, in 1999, they participated in the HHL Exchange Program at the Universidad Del Pacifico in Ecuador.
