Mogens Arentoft has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Mogens began their career at IPU in 1992, where they served as a Senior Engineer, leading international development projects and enhancing IPU's position in numerical modelling and process technology. Mogens then moved on to become a Group Manager, expanding the group through networking and project proposals, and later transitioned to the role of Head of Division - Technology Development. In this role, they were responsible for market strategy, expansion, and employee management. Mogens also developed an organization characterized by multidisciplinary collaboration and raised the network to researchers at DTU. Mogens Arentoft's next role was Director/Head of Section - Process Technology at IPU, where they had strategic management, leadership, and economic responsibilities. Mogens was also a key person in creating the "Center for Hygienic Design" at the Technical University of Denmark. In 2017, they joined MAN Energy Solutions and MAN Diesel & Turbo as the Head of Production Engineering.

Mogens Arentoft obtained a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from DTU- Technical University of Denmark from 1992 to 1996. Prior to that, they earned an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution from 1986 to 1992. In 1991 to 1992, they pursued an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde.
