Chris DeAppolonio has a diverse work experience history in the esports and marketing industries. Chris most recently served as the Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Innovation Officer at Evil Geniuses starting in September 2023. Prior to that, they were the President of the Houston Outlaws, responsible for leading the business and team operations of the Overwatch League organization. Chris also held the role of Executive Vice President, Partnerships at Infinite Esports & Entertainment. Before their involvement in esports, DeAppolonio worked as the President of Triggerfish and held various roles at Genesco Sports Enterprises, including Director and Senior Manager. Chris began their career in marketing with positions at Jack Morton Worldwide, Generation Z Marketing, Major League Baseball, International Fight League, and the New York Rangers.

Chris DeAppolonio attended North Plainfield High School from 1998 to 2002. After completing high school, they enrolled at Lafayette College and graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. In 2005, they briefly studied Modern British History & Politics at the University of Oxford. Chris then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Sports Business at New York University, which they completed in 2008.
