Bernd Tönjes is the current Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Evonik. Bernd has held this position since January 2016. Ing. from the FernUniversität in Hagen, a Dr.-Ing. from Universität Essen in Rheologie und Strömungsmechanik, and a Dipl.-Ing. from Leibniz Universität Hannover in Maschinenbau Fachrichtung Verfahrenstechnik. Bernd also has a Vordiplom from Universität Dortmund in Maschinenbau. Bernd is certified by IBM in Enterprise Design Thinking - Team Essentials for AI, Enterprise Design Thinking Co-Creator, and Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner.
