Rui Wang has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. They began their career in 2007 as a Business Analyst at Ministerie van VWS. They then moved on to work at Royal HaskoningDHV (Pty) Ltd. as a Business Analyst for a brief period. In 2008, Rui joined Vopak and held various roles including Management Trainee, Division Operational Excellence Officer, Business Development, Procurement Manager, and Division Sourcing & Procurement Manager. They also served as the Regional Sourcing & Procurement Manager at Vopak, responsible for leading all sourcing and procurement initiatives for multiple terminals in Asia. In 2017, Rui joined ZEABORN Ship Management GmbH & Cie. KG as the VP and Head of Procurement. Currently, they work at Evonik, first as the Director and Head of Procurement for the SEA & ANZ region, and currently as the Head of Indirect Procurement for the APAC region. Additionally, Rui served as an Honorary Council Member at the Singapore Association of Shipsuppliers & Services from 2018 to 2019.
Rui Wang completed the Developing Leaders Program at IMD in 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Transport, Infrastructure & Logistics from Delft University of Technology in 2008. Rui Wang also holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and another Bachelor's degree in International Shipping Management & Logistics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, which were both completed in 2006. In addition to their formal education, Rui Wang obtained various certifications related to leadership development, strategic category management, and the petrochemical industry, among others.
