Chris Frantz

Prior to Excelsior, Mr. Frantz ran Cypress Creek Renewable’s independent power company. The portfolio included over 1.6GW of utility-scale solar assets in regulated and deregulated markets across the U.S., generating. Prior to Cypress, Mr. Frantz worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he led the development of air regulations on utility-scale power plants and oil and natural gas hydraulic fracturing operations. Prior to joining the EPA, Mr. Frantz worked with California electric utilities such as Southern California Edison, Pacific Gas and Electric, and San Diego Gas and Electric on the development, implementation, and evaluation of demand response and demand side management programs.

Mr. Frantz holds a B.A. in Environment, Economics, and Politics from Claremont McKenna College, a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
