Paul Gillespie

Paul Gillespie has extensive work experience in the field of medicinal chemistry. Paul began their career at the California Institute of Technology as a post-doctoral fellow in 1991. Paul then joined Roche in 1992, where they held various roles including Senior Scientist, Associate Research Investigator, Research Leader, Senior Research Leader, and Senior Leader/Research Director. In 2013, they joined Roche TCRC, Inc. as an Expert Scientist, where they were involved in evaluating clinical stage assets and contributing to regulatory documents. In 2014, they moved to the Roche Innovation Center New York as an External Drug Discovery Director. Currently, they are working at Exelixis, starting as Director of Medicinal Chemistry in 2020 and progressing to Senior Director, Executive Director, and finally, Vice President of Medicinal Chemistry.

Paul Gillespie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Trinity College Dublin in 1986. Paul then went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Chemistry at the same institution from 1986 to 1988. From 1988 to 1991, Paul pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Organic Chemistry at Princeton University.
