Johan van de Ven

Johan van de Ven has extensive experience in research and analysis roles. Johan is currently working as a Research Analyst at Exovera. Prior to that, they worked as a Defense Analyst at TextOre - OSINT Analytics.

From 2017 to 2020, Johan worked at RWR Advisory Group as a Senior Analyst, where they led research and analysis of the Belt and Road Initiative and undertook custom research projects. Johan also worked as a Freelance Analyst at The Economist Intelligence Unit (The EIU) for a year in 2017.

In 2016, Johan interned at the European Council on Foreign Relations, where they prepared research reports, assisted with coverage of Brexit, and briefed senior staff members.

Johan van de Ven completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Oriental Studies, with a specialization in Modern and Classical Chinese, at the University of Oxford from 2010 to 2014. In addition, they earned a Certificate in Modern and Classical Chinese from Peking University during the academic year 2011 to 2012. Johan then pursued their Master of Arts degree in Public International Law and International Political Economy at The Fletcher School at Tufts University, which they obtained from 2015 to 2017. Prior to their higher education, they attended Nanjing International School from 2005 to 2006, although no specific degree or field of study is provided for this period.
