Johan then pursued their Master of Arts degree in Public International Law and International Political Economy at The Fletcher School at Tufts University, which they obtained from 2015 to 2017. Prior to their higher education, they attended Nanjing International School from 2005 to 2006, although no specific degree or field of study is provided for this period.
