Marina Philip is an accomplished educator and scientist with extensive experience in teaching and communication within the field of science. Currently serving as an educator at Explora Science Center and Children's Museum and adjunct faculty at The University of New Mexico, Marina has previously contributed as a science reporter for the Las Vegas Review-Journal during tenure as an AAAS Mass Media Fellow. With a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Marina conducted research focused on metabolic profiling of single cells while mentoring students in advanced mass spectrometry techniques. Additional roles include writing for Chembites and managing social media for the American Chemical Society, showcasing versatility in both scientific research and science communication. Early career experiences involved significant responsibilities in building management, reporting, and account management at Western Washington University.

More than a science center or a kids museum, Explora offers visitors of all ages - including adults! - a place to enjoy lifelong learning through fun hands-on investigations with interesting materials. In addition to two floors of exhibits, Explora offers many programs to enrich your child's out-of-school time learning through hands-on classes for children in preschool-8th grade, including Early Childhood Classes, Robotics After-School Club, Engineering & Physics Science Club, and Home School Exploration Series, winter, spring, and summer Camp, and Teen Cafes.
