Alec Norton

Alec Norton is an accomplished consultant and sustainability expert with significant experience in the adventure travel industry and risk management. Currently serving as Consultant & Sustainability Practice Co-Lead at Expressworks International since April 2021, Alec also co-founded and directs DownWest Semesters, which focuses on inspiring future leaders through experiential learning in the outdoors. Prior roles include Head of North America at Macs Adventure, where Alec led the establishment of the North American office, and various positions at Overland Summers, including Director of Operations & Risk Management, where impactful youth programs were developed. Alec's background includes project management consulting for a start-up in Tanzania, marketing with Clif Bar & Company, and extensive research roles at Stanford University and the San Francisco Estuary Institute. Alec holds an MA and BA in History from Stanford University and completed Executive Education in Sustainability Leadership at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2023.
