Alan Fortes has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Alan started their career in 1979 as a Quality Control Manager at BOC Health Care and later worked as a Quality Assurance Manager at Ellison Circlips and Transtechnology UK Ltd. In 2000, they joined Whiteley as a Quality Assurance Manager, later transitioning to the role of Operations Director. Alan then moved on to the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council as Deputy Corporate Project Manager. From 2012 to 2015, Alan was the Head of Quality at Fablink Tank Systems Ltd. Alan then held various leadership positions at Fablink Tank Systems Limited, including Head of Engineering & Quality and Head of Site Manufacturing Operations. Currently, Alan is employed as the Head of Engineering Services at Fablink Group.

From 1973 to 1979, Alan Fortes attended Bradford College, Leeds Polytechnic, and the University of Huddersfield. Alan studied Mechanical and Production Engineering during this time. No degree name was specified.
