João Santos has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research and discovery. João began their career as a Research Intern at IBMC.INEB Associate Laboratory in 2012 and later worked as a Research Intern at the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine - University of Oxford in 2013. In 2014, João returned to IBMC.INEB Associate Laboratory as a Research Intern before joining FairJourney Biologics the same year. At FairJourney Biologics, João held various roles, including Research Associate, Senior Research Associate, Associate Scientist, and Senior Scientist. Currently, they serve as the Head of the Discovery and Engineering Unit I at FairJourney Biologics.
João Santos holds a Master's Degree in Bioengineering (Molecular Biotechnology) from the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, where they studied from 2009 to 2014. Additionally, they also obtained a Master's Degree in Bioengineering and Molecular Biotechnology from the Instituto Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar during the same period.

As of 2022, the company has a headcount of above 200 staff members and a track record of more than 800 projects on a variety of areas.
