Victoria Hobson is a Senior Lecturer in Marine Ecology and Conservation at the University of Exeter since February 2018, with a background in marine ecology and conservation, having previously served as a Lecturer in Marine Ecology. Currently, Victoria also holds the position of Falmouth Harbour Commissioner and is a committee member of the Cornwall Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority, where Victoria contributes to the management of marine fisheries and environmental research. As the Director of Aequorea, Victoria leads a marine survey company specializing in supporting the marine energy sector. Previous roles include Lead Marine Biologist at ADMIRALTY Maritime Data Solutions and Marine Science Research Officer at Swansea University, where Victoria was involved in various research projects and knowledge transfer initiatives. Victoria holds a PhD in Marine Ecology from Swansea University and a BSc (Hons) in Physical Geography and Oceanography from the University of Southampton.

Falmouth Harbour are a statutory port authority with responsibility for the Inner Harbour at Falmouth (excluding Falmouth Docks), the Penryn River up as far as Coastlines Wharf, the southern part of the Carrick Roads and a large part of Falmouth Bay.
