Sean Kerman

Sean Kerman is an experienced architect of machine learning and artificial intelligence at FamilySearch, specializing in innovative AI projects, including the development of a large language model for extracting genealogical information from historical records. Previously, at Owlet Baby Care, Kerman served as the Director of AI and Machine Learning, leading the creation of advanced pulse oximetry algorithms that significantly improved monitoring capabilities. Kerman also held positions as Principal AI/ML Engineer and Acting Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs at Owlet, contributing to the successful development and validation of monitoring technologies. Kerman’s earlier experience includes a role as a Senior Software Engineer at Freelinc, participation in the RGA/Techstars Accelerator, and research at Brigham Young University, where Kerman advanced robotic swarm control methods. Kerman holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University.
