Pascal Froment is a prominent expert in radioprotection with extensive experience in the field. Since July 2021, Pascal has served as a member of the Scientific Council of the Agence fédérale de Contrôle nucléaire (AFCN) and has held the position of General Director at Be.Sure, an approved radioprotection organization in Belgium, since March 2018. In this capacity, Pascal has helped establish the organization as a leader in radioprotection services. Additionally, Pascal is the manager and radioprotection expert at Concept, Réalisation et Support sprl, and has been a member of the Bureau of the Association Belge de Radioprotection since 2009, including a tenure as President from 2018 to 2020. Pascal has also contributed to academia as a guest lecturer at the Université catholique de Louvain since 2008 and previously held positions at Controlatom and Vinçotte Controlatom, focusing on service management and quality safety. Pascal holds a Doctorate in Chemical Sciences with a specialization in nuclear chemistry from the Université catholique de Louvain.

The Federal Agency for Nuclear Control promotes the effective protection of the general public, workers and the environment against the hazards of ionising radiation. We run campaigns to raise awareness and to promote prevention. We also operate a radiological surveillance system covering the whole Belgian territory. * Managing the unexpected: We develop adequate procedures, in conjunction with our stakeholders, in order to ensure that all parties concerned are notified rapidly and can respond efficiently in the event of an incident or accident involving ionising radiation. * Looking to the future: We put our knowledge of radiation protection up for constant review to make sure that our information is always up-to-date. We collaborate closely with our foreign counterparts. We encourage and monitor scientific research. We provide in training and development for those employed in the nuclear sector.
