Henry Quek has been at the helm of Far Ocean as CEO since 1991, guiding the company through significant growth and transformation. Under his leadership, Far Ocean has expanded from a regional seafood supplier into a global leader in premium meat and seafood distribution.

Henry's journey with Far Ocean began with his deep understanding of the seafood industry and a commitment to quality that has been the hallmark of the company. He played a pivotal role in the merger of Kiang Huat, which he managed, into Far Ocean, significantly increasing the company's sales turnover and expanding its product offerings. This strategic move set the stage for Far Ocean's rise as a major player in the global seafood market.

Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Henry led Far Ocean through a series of key milestones. The company invested heavily in building Singapore's first integrated seafood cold storage facility, earning a reputation for food safety and quality. Far Ocean was the first seafood company in Singapore to receive an "A" grading from the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) and became the first to export seafood out of Singapore with a European Union export license.

Henry's vision for Far Ocean extended beyond Singapore. He successfully expanded the company's footprint into international markets, including the United States, Europe, and Asia. By the 2000s, Far Ocean was the leading seafood company in Singapore, with an annual turnover of $100 million, and had established a global presence in countries such as the United States, Brazil, and Russia.
