Kazuma Makihara

Kazuma Makihara is an accomplished professional with a strong background in data science and software engineering. Currently serving as Deputy Director of Labs for Data Science at Farallon Capital Management since July 2018, Kazuma has previously held roles such as Senior Data Scientist and Data Scientist within the same organization. Notable earlier experiences include an internship as a Research Analyst at Verdad Advisers, where Kazuma modeled Japanese value stocks using quantitative techniques. Previous internships also include positions at Seer Aerospace (Software Engineer Intern), Rakuten (Front End Engineering Intern), Hakluyt & Company (Intern), and an internship in the Office of Shinjiro Koizumi. As a co-founder and CTO at Capsul, Kazuma developed a location-based video sharing app. Kazuma earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science with a Secondary in Economics from Harvard University.
