Nigel van den Berg has a range of experiences in various roles and industries. Nigel started their career in 2013 as the Vice-President of Marketing, Campaign, and Organization for JOVD Flevoland. From 2016 to 2017, they worked at ING Nederland as a Student Employee in Garnishments & Bankruptcies. In 2018, Nigel interned at the Embassy Office of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Moldova under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Public Affairs Advisor at Publieke Zaken, specializing in energy infrastructure and circular economy. Subsequently, from 2021 to 2023, they served as a Public Affairs Associate at felyx. Currently, Nigel is working as a Program Manager for Local Governments at Fastned, starting in March 2023.

Nigel van den Berg pursued their education primarily in the Netherlands. Nigel started their academic journey in 2006 at Oostvaarders college, where they obtained a VWO degree in Economics & Society in 2012. The following year, in 2013, they enrolled in Radboud University and completed a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration. Nigel then continued their education at the same university, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in American/United States Studies/Civilization in 2017.

In 2017, Nigel showed their commitment to furthering their knowledge in the field of International Relations and International Organizations by pursuing a Master of Arts (MA) degree at the University of Groningen. Nigel successfully completed this program in 2019.

Nigel's passion for cybersecurity led him to attend the National Cyber Security Summer School in the Netherlands in 2019, where they gained expertise in this field, although it is not specified whether they received a degree.

In addition to their formal education, Nigel also obtained several certifications. In December 2018, they completed an Arabic Language Course (Lower A1) at the Language Centre of the University of Groningen. Prior to this, in February 2012, they obtained a THIMUN 2012 Certificate from the Model United Nations of The Hague, highlighting their interest and involvement in international affairs. In January 2012, Nigel also obtained a Crisis Committee Certificate from the Leiden Model United Nations Foundation (LEMUN 2012 Certificate).
