Fanny Wessner

Fanny Wessner is currently serving as the Desk Officer for Security Sector Reform and Governance at the Folke Bernadotte Academy since February 2022. Previously held positions include Gender Specialist and Programme Officer for Gender, Peace & Security at UNDP from November 2018 to May 2021, and a short-term role as Trainee in the Legal Service at the Council of the European Union in early 2018. Fanny also gained experience as an intern in the Legal Department of Civil Rights Defenders in late 2017, and worked as a Claims Assessor at If Insurance from June 2015 to June 2017. Fanny Wessner holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg, with studies completed between 2010 and 2017, and additional coursework at Umeå University.

FBA (Folke Bernadotte Academy)

The Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) is the Swedish government agency for peace, security and development. FBA supports international peace operations and international development cooperation. The agency conducts training, research and method development in order to strengthen peacebuilding and statebuilding in conflict and post-conflict countries. We also recruit civilian personnel and expertise for peace operations and election observation missions led by the EU, UN and OSCE.
