Hanna Bertelman is a seasoned professional in the field of human rights and law, currently serving as a Senior SSR Officer and Head of Unit a.i. for Rule of Law and Elections Observation at the Folke Bernadotte Academy since February 2020. Prior to this, Bertelman held various positions including Liaison Officer for the UN Mission in Colombia and Policy and Programme Specialist at the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator. Experience also includes roles as Associate Human Rights Officer at both the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and OHCHR Guatemala, as well as legal positions within the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs and Justitiekanslern. Bertelman has an LL.M. in International Human Rights Law from the Raoul Wallenberg Institute and a Jur. kand. degree in Law from Lunds Universitet.

The Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) is the Swedish government agency for peace, security and development. FBA supports international peace operations and international development cooperation. The agency conducts training, research and method development in order to strengthen peacebuilding and statebuilding in conflict and post-conflict countries. We also recruit civilian personnel and expertise for peace operations and election observation missions led by the EU, UN and OSCE.
