Karin Carlesten currently serves as the Head of Rule of Law and Election Observation Unit at FBA (Folke Bernadotteakademin) since February 2021. Prior to this role, Karin was the International Director at The Centre Party from June 2015 to January 2021 and held various positions in the Regeringskansliet, including Political Advisor from November 2011 to October 2014 and from October 2009 to March 2010. Karin also served as Programme Manager for EUPOL COPPS, Political Analyst for the Swedish Armed Forces, and International Project Manager for Centerkvinnorna. Educational qualifications include a Filosofie magisterexamen in Peace and Conflict Studies from Uppsala University and international studies at Université de Montréal, after completing the International Baccalaureate at S:t Eskils gymnasium.

FBA (Folke Bernadotte Academy)
The Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) is the Swedish government agency for peace, security and development. FBA supports international peace operations and international development cooperation. The agency conducts training, research and method development in order to strengthen peacebuilding and statebuilding in conflict and post-conflict countries. We also recruit civilian personnel and expertise for peace operations and election observation missions led by the EU, UN and OSCE. The agency is named after Count Folke Bernadotte, the first UN mediator. Here on Linkedin we share the latest news from our activities.
