Lejla Hastor is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in regional management and international relations. Currently serving as the Regional Manager for the Swedish strategy for the Western Balkans at the Folke Bernadotte Academy since February 2022, Lejla directs operations and manages a multidisciplinary team focused on rule of law, women, peace and security, and peace mediation. Prior roles include Programme Manager at the Swedish Institute from 2016 to 2022, where Lejla initiated the SI Innovation Leaders programme, and as Regional Advisor, providing strategic intelligence for the EU and Western Balkans. Previous experience encompasses roles at Hastor Communications as CEO and Founder, and positions at Migrationsverket, the Swedish Institute, The Olof Palme International Center, and Sida, with a strong emphasis on communication and regional programme management. Lejla holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Uppsala University and has pursued further education in communication and media studies.

The Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) is the Swedish government agency for peace, security and development. FBA supports international peace operations and international development cooperation. The agency conducts training, research and method development in order to strengthen peacebuilding and statebuilding in conflict and post-conflict countries. We also recruit civilian personnel and expertise for peace operations and election observation missions led by the EU, UN and OSCE. The agency is named after Count Folke Bernadotte, the first UN mediator. Here on Linkedin we share the latest news from our activities.
