James Kolesar has a diverse work experience in the insurance industry. James started their career as an Underwriter at USF&G Insurance in 1987 and then moved on to become a District Marketing Manager at National Grange Insurance from 1990 to 1995. James joined Travelers in 1995 as a Select Account Executive and worked there until 2004. During this time, they were involved in underwriting individual accounts, reviewing potential agencies, and evaluating books of business. From 2004 to 2012, James worked at Markel Insurance Co. as a Sales & Marketing Manager and Team Leader/Underwriting Manager. James'sresponsibilities included managing agency relations, seeking growth opportunities, and pre-underwriting potential accounts. Since 2012, James has been associated with FCCI Insurance Group. James started as a Senior Marketing Underwriter and later progressed to become the Director of Underwriting VA/MD/DC and currently serves as the Managing Director of Underwriting. In their current role, they are responsible for managing agency relationships and making decisions regarding new business placement.
James Kolesar attended Virginia Tech from 1983 to 1985. During their time at the university, they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study. Following this, they enrolled at Radford University from 1985 to 1987, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance & Insurance.
