John Smith

John Smith has over three decades of extensive experience in the insurance and actuarial fields. Currently serving as the Appointed Actuary at Fidelity Life Assurance Company Ltd since May 2000, John specializes in financial reporting, risk assessment, and capital management strategy. Prior to that, John held the position of Business Unit Executive at First Mutual Life Assurance Society of Zimbabwe, where responsibilities included overseeing the life insurance business with a team of 420 staff and directing a successful startup joint venture. John's career began at Zambia State Insurance Corporation Limited as an actuary, where John launched unit-linked business and revitalized individual life offerings. Additional experience includes serving as an actuary and divisional manager at Madison Insurance Company (Zambia) Ltd and a senior actuarial assistant at Norwich Union. John holds an MSc in Development Studies from the University of Bath and a BSc in Actuarial Science from City St George’s, University of London.
