Fillip
Joseph Shimonov has a diverse work experience in the energy and trading industry. Joseph began their career in 2000 as a Crude Oil Trader at Enron Oil Trading & Transportation (EOTT) and later worked as a Crude Oil Trader at SemCanada Crude from 2003 to 2008. Joseph then joined RBS Sempra Commodities and JP Morgan (RBS Sempra) as a VP - Crude Oil Trader from 2008 to 2012.
In 2012, Joseph joined Husky Energy as a Financial Commodity Trading Manager and later became the Director - Financial Trading. In 2016, they co-founded Fillip and served as a Co-Founder and Board Member.
Since 2019, Joseph has been working at Cenovus Energy. Joseph initially worked as a Principal, Hedging Strategist & WTI Trader and is currently serving as the Director, Crude and Financial Trading.
Joseph Shimonov began their education in 1992 at the University of Calgary, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics. Joseph attended the university for five years and completed their studies in 1997. After that, they furthered their education at Eastern Michigan University from 1999 to 2001. During this time, they earned a Master of Arts degree in Economics.
