Financial Action Task Force (FATF)
Kristen Alma currently serves as Team Lead at the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) since 2016, where responsibilities focus on assessing countries' compliance with FATF standards related to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing. Previously, Kristen held roles as a Senior Economist and Policy Analyst within the Government of Canada from May 2008 to April 2016. Kristen Alma earned a Master's Degree from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University (2007 - 2009) and a Bachelor's Degree from McMaster University (2002 - 2006).
Financial Action Task Force (FATF)
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is an inter-governmental body established in 1989 by the Ministers of its Member jurisdictions. The objectives of the FATF are to set standards and promote effective implementation of legal, regulatory and operational measures for combating money laundering, terrorist financing and other related threats to the integrity of the international financial system. The FATF is therefore a “policy-making body” which works to generate the necessary political will to bring about national legislative and regulatory reforms in these areas.
