Sean Hamilton Mbe

Sean Hamilton MBE has extensive experience in the legal and financial sectors, currently serving as Ombudsman Leader and Head of Practice for general insurance at the Financial Ombudsman Service since December 2010. In this role, Sean leads a team of ombudsmen and managers to resolve a range of financial disputes while developing policy for the service. Previously, Sean worked as a Senior Ombudsman, and held various positions including Tribunal Member at the Nursing and Midwifery Council and Pension Appeal Tribunal Northern Ireland, and as a Public Prosecutor at the Public Prosecution Service Northern Ireland. Sean's early career included roles as a Police Constable for the Metropolitan Police and an RMP NCO in the Royal Military Police. Sean holds both a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Human Rights and Criminal Justice from Queen's University Belfast.
