Christian Capuano has a diverse work experience in the financial sector. Christian started their career at Prometeia in 2010 as a Specialist. In 2011, they joined the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA as a Senior Risk Specialist and later became the Head of Risk Management Department in 2016. During this time, they also worked at Credit Suisse as the Group Head of Stress Testing Analysis from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, they became a member of the Policy and Standards Group (PSG) and the Risks and Vulnerabilities Assessment Group (RVG) at the Bank for International Settlements. Prior to these roles, they worked as an Economist at the International Monetary Fund from 2005 to 2011.
Christian Capuano obtained a Laurea in Economia e Commercio from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna in 1998. Christian then pursued further education at Columbia University, where they earned a PhD in Economics and Finance from 1999 to 2004.

It also regulates distributors and insurance intermediaries. It is charged with protecting creditors, investors and policyholders. FINMA is responsible for ensuring that Switzerland’s financial markets function effectively.
