Matthias Obrecht has a strong background in law and finance. Matthias started their career as a Junior Associate at Geissmann Rechtsanwaelte law firm in 2008, where they gained experience in contract law, public law, bankruptcy law, and trademark law. Matthias also had the responsibility of establishing a Polish company in Switzerland. In 2009, they became a Team Manager at Strassenverkehrsamt Aargau, where they oversaw a team of 19 employees and played a key role in reorganizing workflows. In 2014, Obrecht pursued an internship at Ferring Pharmaceuticals before joining the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA in 2015. At FINMA, they held multiple roles, including Senior Legal and Policy Specialist and Head of Market Analysis. Throughout their career, Obrecht has demonstrated strong leadership skills and expertise in the fields of law, finance, and management.
Matthias Obrecht obtained their Master's degree in Law from the University of Zurich, where they studied from 2003 to 2007. Later, from 2013 to 2015, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Sungkyunkwan University.
