Rastko Vrbaski has extensive work experience in the field of finance and law. Rastko started their career as an Associate at Deutsche Bank in 2004, followed by a position as an Associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP from 2005 to 2009. In 2009, they joined JONES DAY® as European Counsel, where they worked until 2011.

In 2011, Rastko joined Eidgenössische Finanzmarktaufsicht FINMA as the Head of Intensive Supervision, a role they held until 2016. During their time at FINMA, they also served as the Head of Restructuring and Insolvency.

Since 2019, Rastko has been working at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) as a Senior Advisor.

Rastko Vrbaski began their education at Stellenbosch University, where they worked as a Research Assistant until 1996. Rastko then pursued further studies at the University of Tübingen, where they completed their Doctor of Jurisprudence (Dr. iur.) degree in 2004.
