Shawn Alpay

Shawn Alpay is a seasoned Business Intelligence Architect with a focus on financial operations, currently serving as the FOCUS Working Group Chair at the FinOps Foundation, where the emphasis is on an open-source specification for integrating FinOps data. With extensive expertise in Microsoft Business Intelligence technologies and a history of developing solutions for managing cloud costs at Envisor, Shawn has also provided advisory support post-2024. In addition to technical roles, Shawn is an accomplished musician, performing as a songwriter and instrumentalist since 2011, with experience in various bands and the release of a solo album in 2022. Earlier career roles include producing and engineering music, as well as data-related positions at Jamba Juice and E. & J. Gallo Winery. Shawn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis.
