Melissa Koide is the CEO and Director of FinRegLab. Melissa was previously the Deputy Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Department of the Treasury, responsible for consumer policy. In this role, they developed and coordinated the Treasury Department’s legislative and regulatory policies as they related to retail financial services offered by banks and nonbank financial services companies.

Ms. Koide has also served as the Vice President of Policy at the Center for Financial Services Innovation, where they established and led the organization's Washington, DC policy office. In this role, they were responsible for developing policy recommendations to promote access to quality financial services for underserved consumers.

Ms. Koide is a leading expert on financial regulation and consumer protection. Melissa has testified before Congress on multiple occasions, and their work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and other major news outlets.

Melissa Koide holds a Master's degree from Georgetown University.
