Blake J. Schulz

Blake J. Schulz is the current Director at Children's Bureau. Prior to that, they were an Associate Attorney at Ice Miller LLP from July 2015 to April 2014, and Counsel & Manager of Real Estate at ITT Educational Services, Inc. from May 2013 to April 2014. As an attorney, they have experience with all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including site selection, due diligence, development, financing and contract negotiations. As Counsel & Manager of Real Estate, their responsibilities included: managing a portfolio of approximately 50 technical colleges totaling over 1.25 million square feet; site selection, due diligence, and all business and legal negotiations for real estate acquisitions in assigned territories; team lead for real estate procurement, design, and construction activities; communicating market specific real estate strategies to senior management; providing legal advice regarding lease interpretation and landlord/tenant disputes; preparing and reviewing commercial contracts, leases, estoppel certificates, title commitments, engagement letters, and construction contracts; researching market trends in order to obtain favorable economic and other lease terms; and supervising and participating in site design and construction activities.

Blake J. Schulz attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics. Blake then attended Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where they obtained their Doctor of Law.
