Mark Thackston

Mark Thackston is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in both banking and law. Currently serving as SVP/Commercial Lender at First Bank and Trust since June 2020, Mark has also held significant positions such as Vice President & Chief Lending Officer at The Bank of Charlotte County and Vice President/Business Banker at Benchmark Community Bank. In addition to a successful banking career, Mark has a notable military background, having served as a Colonel in the Virginia Army National Guard from January 1997 until retirement in January 2024. Mark's legal expertise includes roles as an attorney specializing in real estate with Watson, Morrison, & Miller, P.C., and as a trial attorney at Tuck, Dillard, Nelson, & Dillard. Mark earned a Juris Doctor degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business from Virginia Military Institute.
