Gavin Smith is an experienced professional in the bus transportation sector, currently serving as Mobilisations Director at First Bus since December 2024, where responsibilities include leading mobilisations to enhance everyday operations. Previously, Gavin directed the mobilisation of the Kent Thameside Fastrack services at The Go-Ahead Group from April 2021 to November 2024. With significant leadership experience gained at Go-Ahead Singapore from January 2017 to March 2021 as Managing Director and Project Director in Business Development, Gavin oversaw a large team of 800 bus captains and managed operations for 400 vehicles across 26 services. At Go-Ahead London from August 2014 to December 2016, Gavin held the position of Area General Manager, coordinating a significant operational transition involving new depots and route integrations. Gavin's career also includes roles at Tower Transit Group and FirstGroup plc, starting in 1999, focusing on operations management and staff performance.
