Melissa Ferrato is an accomplished professional in the field of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies, currently serving as Vice President and Senior Director of ESG at First Capital REIT since October 2017. In this role, Melissa leads the development and implementation of ESG initiatives, providing expert guidance to internal stakeholders and overseeing sustainability strategy execution. Prior experience includes roles as Director and Manager of Sustainability at Bentall Kennedy, where Melissa managed various sustainability programs and corporate responsibility reporting, as well as serving as Manager of Sustainability Marketing at Sears Canada, where Melissa developed customer-facing sustainability initiatives. Earlier career experiences include positions at the World Green Building Council and Canada Green Building Council, along with a role in sustainable development at the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from York University.
