Helen McDowell has extensive work experience in the field of human resources. Helen is currently the Head of People Partnering - Associate Director at First Derivative since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Johnson Controls as an HR Business Partner from 2016 to 2021. In this role, they were responsible for creating people plans and providing recruitment expertise. Before that, they held various HR roles at Citi from 2013 to 2016, including Senior HR Generalist EMEA - Vice President and HR Generalist - Assistant Vice President. Helen also worked as a Senior Human Resource Generalist at Tyco Security Products from 2009 to 2013. Helen started their career as an HR Assistant at South Eastern Regional College in 2009 and then joined Parity Training Ltd for their Premiere Plus Graduate Management Programme.
Helen McDowell completed their education chronologically, starting with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Queen's University Belfast in 2003-2006. Helen then pursued a Master of Science degree in Occupational Psychology from Cardiff University/Prifysgol Caerdydd, which they obtained in 2007-2008. Finally, they completed their education with a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Management from Queen's University Belfast in 2009-2013.
