Earlier in their career, Janet worked as AVP, People & Culture (Head of HR) at the Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union (LAPFCU). In this role, they directed all HR programs and functions for the credit union and led a team in executing HR and talent development initiatives.

Prior to LAPFCU, they worked at Source Interlink Companies as a Group Manager of Human Resources & Administration, where they oversaw HR and facility operations for three divisional offices.

Janet Gaspard has a wealth of experience in HR and people management, with a focus on developing high-trust cultures and aligning people strategies with organizational goals.

Janet Gaspard, SHRM-SCP, CUHRCP, sHRBP is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources Management at Western Governors University, with an expected graduation year of 2024. In 2016, they completed the Western CUNA Management School (WCMS) program at Pomona College, where they studied business.

In addition to their formal education, Janet has obtained various certifications. In 2022, they received the Succession Planning & Talent Development (SPTD) Certification from the Human Capital Institute. In 2021, they completed a course on Rolling Out a Diversity and Inclusion Training Program in Your Company, offered by LinkedIn.

Janet has also completed leadership training with Dale Carnegie Training in 2020. In the same year, they obtained the Strategic Human Resources Business Partner (sHRBP) Certification from the Human Capital Institute.

Further certifications include the Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS) from The Back School, obtained in 2019. In the same year, they became a Credit Union Human Resources Certified Professional (CUHRCP) through the Credit Union National Association. Janet also holds a Professional Designation in Human Resources Management Certificate from UCLA Extension, obtained in 1997, and is a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certified by HRCI since the same year.

Outside the field of Human Resources, Janet holds a Fashion Merchandising Certificate from South Central Career College, achieved in 1990. Janet is also a Registered Tax Preparer, having prepared income tax returns for individuals and sole proprietors under their own business for 16 years. Additionally, they are a Certified CPR, First Aid, and AED provider, certified by the National CPR Foundation since 2022. Janet also obtained a Notary Public designation from the National Notary Association in 1991.

Lastly, Janet obtained the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation from SHRM in 2019.
