Kurt Peterson

Chief Financial Officer, Chief Compliance Officer at First Light Asset Management

As chief compliance officer (CCO), Kurt Peterson leads and manages all First Light compliance initiatives, including ongoing compliance testing and review, monitoring of internal policies and communications, proactive identification and mitigation of compliance risk, and oversight of the firm’s regulatory filings.

Since 2003, Peterson has served in a variety of compliance, operations and finance roles within investment companies. Through these positions, he gained substantial experience building and enhancing firms’ compliance and operations infrastructures. Prior to joining First Light, Peterson was CCO and chief financial officer (CFO) for Corrib Capital Management, and CCO and CFO for Waterstone Capital Management. He began his career at Ernst & Young. Peterson graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He also is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
