Austin Basso is a dedicated professional in Indigenous health and research, currently serving as a Junior Evaluation Analyst at the First Nations Health Authority since June 2023. Previous experience includes roles as an Indigenous Student Ambassador at Simon Fraser University and an Indigenous Graduate-Student Peer Mentor with the British Columbia Network Environment for Indigenous Health Research. Austin has also worked as an Indigenous Student Advisor at the University of British Columbia - Okanagan, where responsibilities included leading a holistic health program for Indigenous families. Additional experience includes a Junior Policy Analyst position with the BC Ministry of Health, focusing on Indigenous health initiatives, and serving as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, contributing to Indigenous-led projects on diabetes and obesity prevention. Austin is pursuing a Master of Science in Indigenous Population Health at Simon Fraser University, building on a Bachelor of Human Kinetics in Clinical Physiology from the University of British Columbia Okanagan.
