Stephen Barbazuk

Stephen Barbazuk currently serves as the Executive Director of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer at the First Nations Health Authority since October 2023. With a diverse background in project management, Stephen has been an instructor at the UBC Sauder School of Business since 2008, focusing on project and agile leadership aligned with industry standards. Previously, Stephen was the Executive Director at MICYRN from 2012 to 2023, where the development of a national maternal-child health research network was achieved through strategic governance and partnership building. Prior experience includes roles at the Provincial Health Services Authority, BC Cancer Agency, Xenon Pharmaceuticals, Terragen Discovery, LG Electronics, and the University of British Columbia, showcasing a strong foundation in strategic planning, project management, and technology management. Educational qualifications include degrees and certifications in project management, non-profit management, coaching, and a BSc in Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of British Columbia.
