First Street Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) research and technology group based in Brooklyn, NY, whose mission is to make climate risk accessible, easy to understand and actionable for individuals, governments, and industry. First Street uses transparent, peer-reviewed methodologies to model physical climate risks to individual properties across the United States. Through Flood Factor (floodfactor.com), the first risk factor launched by the Foundation, they make flood data accessible to the public for free. First Street also provides access to its data to leading economists, engineers, risk experts, and other researchers so those experts can further analyze implications of climate adjusted flood risk. The next risk factor which is currently under development is wildfire which will launch this spring. The First Street team is made up of scientists, technologists and communicators.
