Catherine Ortiz has a diverse work history that includes roles in various industries. Catherine began their career in 2001 as an Assistant Branch Manager at Woodforest National Bank and later worked as a Member Service Specialist at Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union. In 2008, they joined Mission Landscaping, Inc. as a Bookkeeper and stayed with the company until 2017. In 2015, they became a Company Owner of LaVernia Crossfit/STX Training & Fitness Center, where they remained until 2019. Catherine then started their own brokerage company, ACE Brokerage Co, where they served as the Company Owner until 2023. Catherine also gained experience in the non-profit sector as the Campus Director at Livingway Family Church from 2021 to 2023. Currently, they are working as a Financial Center Manager at Firstmark Credit Union.
Catherine Ortiz has a diverse education history. Catherine first attended Agape Christian Academy from 1997 to 2000, where they earned an Honors degree. In 2000 and 2001, they studied Christian Life Studies at Texas Bible College. Later, from 2014 to 2015, they pursued Athletic Training/Trainer at CrossFit Inc., obtaining an LVCF-2 degree. In 2016, they completed a certificate program in CrossFit Scaling from CrossFit Scaling. Additionally, in 2016 and 2017, they attended the National Academy of Sports Medicine, focusing on Foods, Nutrition, and Wellness Studies, General, and becoming a Fitness Nutrition Specialist. Moving forward, Catherine Ortiz recently completed an Associate of Science (AS) in Psychology at Alamo Community College in 2021, and they are currently pursuing a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology at the University of the Incarnate Word, which is expected to be completed in 2023.

In 1932, during the Great Depression, ten teachers agreed to establish a credit union to serve educators. San Antonio Teachers Credit Union (SATCU), the first state-chartered credit union in San Antonio, was born and proudly served members under that name for 70 years. In 2002, SATCU became Firstmark Credit Union when membership qualifications were expanded to help more people in our community. Although our name changed, we continue to be deeply rooted in the education community. Today, we are committed more than ever to the success of our educators and those who support them.
