Janine Smith has spent over 30 years in the IT Industry. She began her career as a Software Engineer and is currently a Program Manager managing programs up to $50M annually. She has supported contracts at NASA, DHS, USPTO, NAVY & AF. Responsibilities also include Business Development, Site Executive & Site Diversity & Inclusion Director.

She is currently a board member of the MSBR (Maryland Space Business Roundtable), has served on a number of other high-profile national boards including NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers) & Project Northstar. She is passionate about increasing the number of women & under-represented groups in STEM careers.

Janine received her undergraduate degree from Fisk in Math and Physics and Master’s degree in Physics from Fisk.

She has two adult daughters Mya Carlisle & Kamilah Carlisle who is a Fiskite.
