Global Group Head For Corporate Ratings at Fitch Group

Jeremy Carter serves as the Global Group Head for Corporate Ratings at Fitch Ratings, overseeing the rating and surveillance processes for over 2,000 non-financial corporations, totaling more than $14 trillion in debt. Throughout a distinguished career at Fitch Ratings since May 2005, Carter has held key roles including Chief Credit Officer, managing credit officers to ensure high-quality ratings, and Chief Criteria Officer, where Jeremy established the Criteria Review and Approval Group. Additionally, Carter launched the Credit Market Commentary team in response to the financial crisis and has extensive experience in European Structured Credit, having managed teams and contributed to the development of rating methodologies for collateralized loan obligations (CLOs). Prior to Fitch Ratings, Carter worked as a journalist, including serving as the London Bureau Chief for Institutional Investor. Educational credentials include a BA in Economic and Social History from the University of Exeter and a program at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
