Debi also held the role of Human Resource Director at Party Packagers, where they partnered with company leadership to develop HR strategies, build company culture, and align functions. Before that, Debi worked at Payless ShoeSource as the Regional Human Resource Manager for Canada, overseeing a large team and managing employee relations. Early in their career, they had entrepreneurial experience as the Owner Operator of Cottage Casuals and Kool Zone.
Debi McCarthy attended McMaster University from 2000 to 2004, where they studied Human Resources. Before that, they attended Sheridan College from 1982 to 1985, where they pursued Business (Accounting).
