Lin-Ya Huang

Lin-Ya Huang is a highly experienced scientist currently serving as Principal Scientist at Flagship Pioneering since July 2023, leading research strategy and platform development for novel viral vectors in gene therapy. Prior to this role, Lin-Ya held positions as Senior Scientist I and II at Affinia Therapeutics from April 2021 to June 2023, where contributions included capsid engineering and library design for novel neurotropic AAV vectors. Lin-Ya's academic background includes a postdoctoral associate position at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology focused on genetically programmed mammalian cells for rAAV production, and a Graduate Research Assistant role at the University of Florida, where innovative rAAV capsid engineering was conducted. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a Master's in Plant Pathology from the University of Florida and National Taiwan University, respectively, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Tzu Chi University.
